Saturday 11 May 2012, Cantiere Navale Pansini & Figli, Molfetta
A new naval unit designed by Studio Navale Samarelli for the Pansini & Figli shipyard took to sea for the first time today.
It is a trawler measuring 26 meters overall, built in S275JR marine steel up to the main deck and AISI 304 steel for the bulwark and superstructure.
The owners are the fishing company Società Giarratano Gaspare & C. S.n.c., a shipping company from Sciacca that bet on a new line that would satisfy important navigability and safety requirements, a modern design and a significant reduction in consumption during navigation.
The unit, which will be RINA certified for Mediterranean Navigation, will carry out its activity in the Sicilian Channel.
With a width of 6.80 meters and a tonnage of 80 Gt, it is equipped with a 900 Hp Baudoin engine, and has a covered refrigerated hold at 0° below deck of approximately 70 m3, and a freezer hold at -40° on deck covered of approximately 25 m2.
Thanks to a careful study of the hull lines, the unit will have an autonomy of approximately 15 days of navigation without refueling, and at the same time will be able to face the challenging seas of the Sea of Sicily.
The Giarratano family celebrated the exciting moment of the launch in the city of Molfetta with the shipyard, the studio, the suppliers and the operators.
After sea trials and the issuing of all necessary certifications, the unit will be transferred to its port of destination, in Sciacca.
